Feast 1: Feeding the Senses

In cooperation with Big Medicine Charitable Trust and Udaipur Shakti Works... lovely elements on the preparation table

This Feast was a gastronome’s delight and an experience of the healing powers of food.

In this deliciously edifying session, Prof Mahesh Dixit discussed and demonstrateed the salient health concepts in the local cuisine and the critical roles of medicinal herbs and local seasonal produce.

Biodiversity expert Satya Prakash Mehra discussed the Mewar foodshed and the challenges to maximising the health of the environment while feeding a growing population.

The food was completely fabiulous.

Dr Jyoti DixitDr. Jyoti Dixit, is an Ayurved with Rajasthan State government branch of AYUSH (Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani and Homeopathy). Specialist in Ayurvedic OB/GYN.







Satya Prakash Mehra

Satya PrakashSatya is an internationally recognised science advisor and field expert with extensive experience on anurans, birds and conservation issues related to youth, water, climate change, eco-tourism in southern Rajasthan.

Satya is currently being evaluated for his doctoral award (on submission) and is serving as science advisor and project manager for the Rajputana Society of Natural History (RSNH).
